Identity Forge ("we", "our", "the app") is a journaling and self-discovery application. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Journal entries and personal content: Everything you write in The Clearing, The Crucible, The Blueprint, and The Forge is stored locally on your device. Your journal entries, emotions, goals, and self-reflections are yours.

Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics (app opens, feature usage, crash reports) to improve the app. This data contains no personal content and cannot be linked to your identity.

Account information: If you create an account or purchase a subscription, we collect your email address and payment information through our payment processor (RevenueCat/Apple/Google). We never see or store your credit card details.

2. Where Your Data Lives

On your device: All journal entries, Blueprint fields, Crucible sessions, Forge answers, and emotion data are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage.
We do not have access to your journal content. Your writing never leaves your device. We cannot read it, and we do not want to.
No cloud sync: Currently, your data is not synced to any cloud service. If you delete the app, your data is permanently deleted.

3. How We Use Your Data

Analysis: All pattern detection, insight generation, and psychological analysis happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to external servers or AI services for processing.
No AI processing: The app uses mathematical algorithms (not artificial intelligence or large language models) to generate insights. All computation is local.
Improving the app: Anonymous crash reports and usage statistics help us fix bugs and improve features.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not read your journal entries
We do not sell or share personal data with third parties
We do not use your data for advertising
We do not track your location
We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone

5. Third-Party Services

RevenueCat: Manages subscriptions. Receives only purchase-related data. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
Apple App Store / Google Play: Handles payments. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
Expo/EAS: Used for app updates. May collect anonymous device information for update delivery.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your journal data exists only on your device
Deleting the app permanently deletes all your data
We cannot recover deleted data because we never had it
Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat/Apple/Google per their policies

7. Children's Privacy

Identity Forge is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Your Rights

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can:

Delete any or all entries within the app
Delete the app to remove all data
Contact us with questions about your data

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
